Trail Riding

Herron Park Trails

Herron Park boasts a robust network of multi-use trails that feature wooded terrain, single and double-track, and a taste of mountainous Montana terrain. The park is a great place to bring your horse to help them practice existing peacefully with other trail users.

Trails are frequented by hikers and mountain bikers, who may not know how to act around horses. Be alert - be aware of blind corners and don't be afraid to ask for more space if you think your horse needs it. Be sure to download maps ahead of time!

Eventing Facilities at Herron Park

Dressage Arena

Two standard size (long court) sand dressage arenas with judges boxes.

Note - the arenas are near a footpath frequented by hikers and bikers. Be aware of your surroundings.

Cross Country Jumps

Herron Park has jumps that range from introductory to preliminary. Course features a water complex, combos, coops,  trakehner, tables, corners, chevrons in an assortment of sizes, difficulties and terrains. Very inviting intro options and no shortage of challenges for more advanced teams.

While jumps are regularly maintained by volunteers, inspect the take off and landing of jumps as weather, other facility users, etc. can potentially create hazards.

Show Jumping

Volunteers set show jumps in several places. Course layout varies from year to year - guests are welcome to move jumps around, but please reposition them to how you found them to make life easier for volunteers setting up for shows.
